Frequently Asked Questions

In many cases – yes. TRIKDIS communicators can work with a wide range of alarm control panels, especially those equipped with a TIP/RING (PSTN) interface.

Direct integration is also available with supported (“known”) control panels using:

  • serial communication bus (SerialBUS),

  • keypad bus emulation (KeyBUS).

Our communicators support industry-standard protocols such as Contact ID and SIA, ensuring compatibility with many monitoring stations.

TRIKDIS devices can be configured using TrikdisConfig software or the Protegus 2 app.

Depending on the device model, local configuration can be performed via USB-C or USB Mini-B connection. Full remote configuration, parameter changes, and firmware updates can also be carried out through the TRIKDIS cloud platform.

This allows installers to configure and manage devices remotely, reducing the need for site visits.

Absolutely. Most TRIKDIS communicators fully support the Protegus 2 app. Users can arm/disarm the system, receive real-time push notifications, and control automated outputs (like gates or lighting) directly from their iOS or Android devices.

  • 4G/LTE: Ideal for maximum independence from the site’s local infrastructure. It remains operational even if the building’s internet or power goes down (when used with a backed-up control panel).

  • Ethernet (LAN): Best for sites with a stable wired network or in locations with poor cellular reception (e.g., deep basements or reinforced concrete structures).

  • Dual-Path: For mission-critical security, we offer models that combine both Ethernet and 4G/LTE. This provides a redundant connection—if the primary link fails, the system instantly switches to the backup path.

Yes. Our devices are engineered and manufactured in Northern Europe, adhering to strict quality standards. Many of our communicators are certified according to EN 50131 Grade 4, making them suitable for both residential and high-risk commercial installations.
